Ooooh I loved this one. I don’t want to include spoilers, but this is the first we see of Violin, and wowza- her story is shocking. Love this world Maberry has created.

This was a mostly entertaining, eye rolling, melted pile of Gouda.

I love the whole concept of this series. Zombies, vampires, both domestic and foreign terrorist; what's not to love! And Joe Ledger is awesome. I'm glad to see they are bringing in a new love interest for Joe. Violin seems like someone who is Joe's equal.

Another GREAT story, with excellent narration. The paranormal aspect threw me, but I still enjoyed it.

This book was complex. I've never read anything so out of my comfort zone, and I loved it. I loved Joe Ledger as the main man in the story. He's a smart ass and he adds humor to what seems like a string of stressful situations. The writing style was absolutely amazing. I love how Ghost has such a huge part as well. I liked this book a ton more than I did when I was reading the first 40 pages. Maberry is great.

Everything you love about the Joe Ledger books is here: monsters with a scientific explanation, incredible action, Joe being a smart-ass, Joe dealing with aftermath of violence more realistically than most heroes, and grand world-encompassing conspiracies. It's a great book. The brutality of the fight scenes is amazing. As Joe gets fights for his life, you feel it almost physically yourself.

Even Ghost (the dog) seemed well fleshed out as a character.

The last hundred pages just flew by and the ending was very satisfying (which is all I'll say). A great addition to the series.

The Joe Ledger series in a nutshell: take Cobra, give them Fringe science, and when they threaten the world, send Jack Bauer's crazier replacement after them.

I love this series.
