Listened to the audiobook for this one to have it finished in time for a bookclub! Wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, but it was fun time! The narrator made the characters fun and exciting, and the whole book had a goofy, whimsical vibe. The blot was kind of confusing though, so it was really more of a 3.5, but not confusing enough to be a 3.

Too predictable and felt like it was dragging on. Could have been shorter.

Bonkers fast paced fantasy action-romance.

Victorian era UK rigidity meets Howl's Moving Castle but, make it pirates. Light spice.

Prose is very Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adjacent. Very fun and lots of action.

Quirky story of lady pirates who travel via flying houses. Enemies to lovers, lots of sarcasm and banter between characters.

5 for sheer fun of it! Takes a lot to make me actually laugh out loud in a book and this did it several times. I'm hooked. Fits nicely into my wheelhouse of "snarky." Audio very well performed; narrator gets the humor right.

Bad plot, but fun story. It seemed like author had fun writing it, also the author seemed self-aware of the bad plot recognising that such perfectly timed coincidences only happen in poorly written novels. In addition, the book is written as YA but there was a graphic sex scene which arguably isn’t appropriate for the intended audience, it would have been better as a fade to black in my opinion but whatever (this is more of a criticism for any YA book with sex in it).

Honestly, not much to talk about. It’s definitely a quick summer read, perfect for sitting by the pool or at the beach. Nothing fantastic when it comes to the writing or plot, but that wasn’t a big deal for me. I was just looking for something easy and fun. This fit that perfectly. All in all, a 3 out of 5.
