I've been reading these through Daily Lit for the last month or so. Mostly, I was pretty bored. There were a few stories that I liked, but overall, these didn't feel like fairy tales to me.

I found this translation to be outdated and confusing. If you like magic of fairy tales, this is NOT the edition to read.

These were fine. Most were poop. Three stars because the afterword mentioned that most of these tales had some sort of metaphor in them which is something that'd fly right over my head.

The Nightingale, though. And The Snow Queen. And maybe some other one. And The Gate Key. And the amount of times my heart's strings were being plucked. These poor characters.

This is a collection of a few fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen. There are a few well known stories. I enjoyed reading them.
