Wow, wow, wow! What a book! Thank you to St. Martin's Press for the Advance Readers' Edition. I had zero expectations going into reading this book. I thought it sounded very interesting, but I was blown away, and absolutely had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next.

Without giving anything away, the plot centers around a complex mother-daughter relationship. Becky, the mother, is deeply devoted to her daughter, Meghan, who suffers from a hard-to-diagnose mystery illness. Is there a line between motherly concern for your child or Munchausen syndrome by proxy? Is Becky just projecting her her medical concerns onto her daughter, or is Meghan truly suffering from a real disease?

The story builds to an unforgettable climax at the end, leaving me wanting a second book in the series to show where the lives of these unforgettable characters ends up.

A solid read. I enjoyed it, I just found the end to be a little bit of a let down. I also found that it was a little too slow for my liking. It was great, though. If you like the Gypsy Rose or Darling Rose Gold story, you'll love this one too. Darling Rose Gold is a little bit stronger, in my opinion. But this one was good too!

Meghan is sick. With no clear diagnosis, her mother is determined to uncover the cause of Meghan's unexplained illness. Is Meghan really sick?

Saving Meghan is a story of a mother's obsessive love for her daughter. It's a story about the lengths that someone will go to when they want to protect a loved one. It's also a story that teaches us that not everything is what it seems.

I, for one, thought that I was up to speed on Munchausen Syndrome. Turns out, there's way more to it than meets the eye. Becky's past creates such a conundrum when trying to figure out how sincere she is about her daughter's illness! There were tell tale signs that screamed the answers to me. They had me right where I thought I had a handle on the truth then - Boom! I was blindsided!

The courtroom scene felt laggy and more tell than show. And, I felt that the book could have been a bit shorter. There seemed to be a bit of overlay. But it was a great read. One that I will definitely recommend.

A teenage girl with a mysterious illness and a mother who will do everything to protect her. A mother’s love or a crime? Will you end up on team #protectmeghan or #believeBecky or both? Fantastic read!!

I got this book as an arc copy on goodreads giveaway. I wasn’t sure at first if I would be interested but after the recent tv show the act on Hulu documenting munchasen by proxy and the case of gypsy rose Blanchard . I was hooked and this book did not disappoint ! It’s a must read !

Becky grew up with a mother who scammed the system. She faked illnesses to get disability checks. Clara used her daughters, Becky and Sabrina, to aid and abet her in doing so. Now, Becky is an adult. She has a teenage daughter, Meghan, and a husband, Carl. Meghan is sick. Or is she?

Meghan has mystery symptoms and no doctor has been able to diagnose her problem. They meet Dr. Fisher, who thinks Meghan has Mitochondritis, a disease with mysterious symptoms and that can only be diagnosed with a thigh muscle biopsy, which Meghan won't do because of her extreme fear of needles. She gets sick and is referred to a Gastroenterology specialist, who believes that Meghan is suffering from nothing and Becky has Munchhausen by proxy and is making Meghan sick for attention. Carl believes the doctor.

Meghan is taken from Carl and Becky and put in the psych ward at White Hospital. Then, people start dying. The question becomes whether Becky can save Meghan.

DJ Palmer has written a thrill-ride of a book. I could not figure out who was behind all the shenanigans, if anyone. The plot was tightly wound and the book was well-written. I really liked it. If you enjoy mysteries and thrillers, you will definitely enjoy this book.

I won this book and received no compensation in exchange for my review. The opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
