I was looking for a break from the fantasy books I’ve been into and thought a thriller would be perfect. I work in tech so felt this would be a good match.

The concept is interesting and I liked the beginning of the book. I did not see the twist coming in the middle but I believe it happened too soon. After the twist the book went downhill for me. It was really slow and I was waiting for it all to wrap up.

What a wild ride. Propulsive plot, captivating characters, makes me want to throw away my smart phone for good.

Going Zero participants have just two hours to disappear. This Hunted-like thriller focuses on librarian Kaitlyn who is trying to evade capture from Cy Baxter’s Fusion team. However as the story unfolds we learn much more about both parties and that there’s more than just the prize fund at stake.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC

This was a fine read for me.
The premise was kinda fun it was well written and fast past.
The plot had a lot of fun twists and turn, especially in the beginning. It falls apart a bit in the end though

The technical aspect felt quite unrealistic (though I don’t know a lot about the topic tbf) but they are interesting concepts nonetheless, if you don’t take them too seriously.

The charakters all fell flat for me.
You can tell that writing believable female characters is not the authors strong suit. Though I don’t think the male characters are much better of.
(I love the description I read of Cy turning cartoonishly evil)
A lot about them is very cliche.
(Like Cy sleeping with his young employee. Come on, couldn’t you think of something little more original?)

So all in all it’s a fun, short read. Not particularly good but not terrible either. It works if you don’t take it too seriously.
