I’ve decided I can’t give memoirs a star rating because it’s not my place to “rate” a person’s life experience. I don’t agree with everything Glennon expresses but I appreciate her heart, vulnerability, and journey so far on this earth. I’m grateful soulful people like her exist and that’s more than enough.

This book was so overrated. I would not recommend it to anyone. I am all for the girl power theme, but this book is full of cheesy, cliché analogies that make no sense. After reading others’ reviews as well, it does indeed come off as a “humble” brag. Also, if you’re a Christian, I definitely wouldn’t seek your advice from this book. There are many parts that are so far from the Gospel—for example, Glennon says maybe Eve is our model: “Own your wanting. Eat the apple. Watch it burn.” To watch your world burn around you because of your actions is terrible advice whether you’re a believer or not. I could go on and on with examples. The ONLY reason I finished this book was because I am reading it for a work book club.

Couldn’t even finish this book. Author seemed to be the epitome of white savior and was condescending to boot.
