I do love these idiots. Amazing art as well.

Not my favorite volume of the series to date, largely because it's a loose collection of character vignettes instead of plot line. We get a little more teaser of Legoshi's family, his relationship with Haru, and her relationship with Louis. As the cover shows, a certain lion features fairly prominently in one of the stories as well. Turns out it's not just carnivores doing shady things in the black market.

The art is emotive and stunning as always. This volume feels like it may have lost a little something in translation, perhaps?

Very mild spoilers ahead.

Problematic ding for this volume:
Legoshi cross dresses with comedic intention in this volume. I realize that different cultures are at different places with queer spectrum peeps, but...eh. Not a great look, since it lands in both transphobic and misogynist categories.

My favorite part of this volume was the interaction between Legoshi and Haru (I wish we could see more of Haru, recently she has fallen by the wayside...) and more of Louis' life in the black market.

The relationship that has developed Ibuki and Louis is something I was not expecting (in a good way). No wonder why Louis has found life in the black market to be alright...

Also GO PINA lmao. First time we get to see him express anything besides "I'm better and more handsome than u" energy.

I'm not all that interested in Riz and Legoshi's fight. Not sure why, I guess I don't see a use in it. Well, maybe in vol. 11 we'll see what comes of it, that's what I'm more interested in (and simultaneously anxious about).

Also Legoshi and his new brain moth friend....... ha

AND I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT LEGOSHI'S FAMILY.... DANG WE ONLY HAD ONE SMALL CHAPTER ON IT!!
