4.5 stars!

Wonderful short story by Lily Morton about 44-year-old Simeon having taken some time off from his job in London to recover after a car accident and 25-year-old Ziggy, who Simeon hires sort of as his assistant to help him around the house as he can't do everything by himself with an arm in a cast.

They start sleeping together, and Ziggy wants it to be casual, for understandable reasons from his past, but Simeon catches the feelings and can't really hide that. But Ziggy has obviously caught them too.

For a short story, this was wonderful. It sets up their connection really well, and while we don't get to see everything quite like we would in a full length novel, what we got was really good and made the love between these two believable, and it of course ends on a wonderful happy note. I enjoyed these two together immensely.

Also it's a nice, quick read that is well written, which is always a plus.

Definitely recommend!

This is a really lovely story. Morton puts a lot of heart and emotion into a small space. Recommended.

It was good, but I would have like to read the full story, you know? With a proper beginning and a longer plot because the ending is hasty, but you can't ask for more from a 70-page story.

This short story encapsulates everything I need in my reading... great characters, great writing, a touch of humour, a touch of snark, all done with heart and feeling.

Excellent and highly recommended!

4.5 “ All I know is that I don’t want anyone. I want you.” stars

This was a re-read for me. But i’ve been super stressed with university lately and I needed a pick me up and I knew that this book would offer me that. This book is just a shot of happiness for me, I just love it. It’s such a heartfelt and feel good love story. This is just the kind of super swoony romance that gives me all the feels. I just really love this book and re-reading it put me in such a good mood. I think I enjoyed this re-read more than I enjoyed the book the first time I read it, because this was the exact book I need right now.
