A great read. The story is compelling and Ruth Ware offers insightful perspective on the current true crime fad. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is wonderful.

A very predictable, basic thriller. Nothing special. It’s definitely longer than It needs to be, i couldn’t wait for It to be over. Wouldn’t really recommend.

i really enjoyed this one! it was long but honestly refreshing since most thrillers are so fast paced they feel like a race to the end. tropes that i usually can’t stand (time jumps) actually worked very well in this book. i enjoyed getting to figure out all the characters and their motivations over the course of the jumps between the past and present and also enjoyed hannah’s perspective as a narrator. the ending was surprising but well-developed. my only tiny complaint is that the final confrontation scene was a bit cliche lol (narrator realizes they’re being driven to a secondary location while the villain monologues) but it was still entertaining so not enough to knock a star off. perfect read to quench my monthly thirst for a good thriller.

I enjoyed the story although the main character irritated the heck out of me. Book smart she maybe but common sense she does not seem to have.

Took me a while to get into this. Nearly gave up a few times to be honest. However, once it got going I enjoyed it. Kept you guessing for a fair while. I had figured out the ‘who’ but still enjoyed the journey the author took us on to get there.

This was fine! It had a real Secret History vibe, which I always enjoy, but as a book, there are a lot of loose ends. (What was up with Will there at the end?? That reaction?) Still, a page turner, I guess.
