The character growth in this book is excellent, as one expects from Riordan. For my personal reading, however, the sections in Tartarus are just… so dark & depressing.

It’s also tricky to balance sooo many characters and plot lines. I feel like Jason kinda disappears in this book, despite the sections that are in his POV.
