Most of the advice is sound, especially regarding monitoring spending and automating savings and payments, avoiding credit card debt, etc. I especially liked the sections regarding a) how to create/invest an emergency fund and b) home mortgages.

But the delivery is cringe-inducing. Reads like a self-help guru's seminar complete with a seizure-inducing mashup of different fonts and trademarked/registered phrases coined by the author. Because, that's exactly what this book is: a seminar presentation.

While I agree that frivolous spending can be curbed, the author makes it seem like that is the source of modern money problems (never mind stagnating wages not keeping up with inflation and increasing wealth inequality and catastrophically high costs of healthcare and health insurance). In the end, this is most helpful for financially illiterate upper middle class readers who have not yet started saving soundly.

It has very good topics, but nothing I didn't already know. If you are a personal finance beginner, then this book is for you.

This book is great, practical knowledge for someone just starting out tackling finances. I recommend this to all friends and family who need some advice on how to take positive steps toward financial freedoms.

If you’re not into finance than this book gives good advice, if you’re a regular investor then give it a pass

I had to read this book for a finance class that I'm taking, so I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise until I was much older and thinking about very big decisions - but I still think that this is a very informative read that definitely has me thinking about topics that I change throughout my life and how I spend my own money.

Bach touches on many topics throughout the course of this book about making a plan to make you an automatic millionaire. He sets up the plan by giving you, the reader, a basic blueprint that involves saving your money, investing, buying a home and paying off your mortgage as soon as possible, paying your credit card bills every month, etc. Like I said before, this book gave me a lot to think about in terms of how I spend my own money and what I can do to better save that money for the future.

I'd advise anyone to read this book if they do, want to learn how to become better with their finances and how to be better prepared for those "rainy days."

Dated information. Most is still relevant and helpful but some needs major revision.

This is something teens or kids in college should read when they are first starting out. Of they follow the plan, they will end up millionaires. A lot of this is basic stuff most people know they SHOULD do, but don't.
