Pretty funny for shakespeare and it was enjoyable

3 / 4 : Read!

[Various Illyrians and interlopers must gender-bend their way through a love triangle or two]

Twelfth Night dives headfirst into the tumultuous miasma of gender and sexuality. An extended monologue by a classic Shakespeare standby, the Fool, serves to encapsulate the play and serve as a triumphant mission statement from the bard.

Shakespeare is so foundational that it's difficult to put him on the Maxwell System. To be safe, read them all.

Even though sometimes the language was tricky it wasn't that hard to understand. This book discusses problems that our society even has today. This was more of a comedy and it actually was very funny. The ending of the story was a big bombshell and everything happened at once making it shocking and giving you ALL THE FEELS. I really recommend you read this book and don't shy away from it because it's Shakespeare.

I love this play and will probably reread it many more times!

Favourite quote on this re-read: Antonio to Viola/Cesario (mistaken for Sebastian): “There is no blemish in nature but the mind: None can be called deformed, but the unkind.” It resonated with me as a disabled person.
