I wish this book included color pictures to go with each plant so I could identify them but I thought the stories were very interesting and I learned a lot of facts!

Fine, some interesting parts. It's structured in a weird way - the same plants come up in multiple sections, which feels repetitive and haphazard.

Super interesting, but I thought it was going to be more of a narrative. Would love to own it for reference, but wasn’t something I wanted to sit down and read to relax.

Entertaining and informative, but I think my main qualm is with the premise of the book

So much to learn about plants! I enjoyed the very straightforward ways that Stewart categorized these plants for easy reading, and enjoyed learning about them without getting too much into the nitty gritty of their biology. Great for reading on a commute.

This was ok. Info can be interesting but repetitive. Actual photos vs drawings would be more helpful. I doubt it’s comprehensive on dangerous plants so in that case a focus on a narrative would have been preferable for me.

note to self: always wear gloves when gardening. maybe put poison control on speed dial.

and, of course, the obvious - don't eat anything you're unsure of.

not really a book to "read through", but one for casual reading. perfect for the bathroom.

it was surprising to read about all the common plants that can cause seizures, coma and death, in addition to irritating rashes. i started to freak out a little, but then realized that much of it was common sense.
