This was my first book by Kristen Ashley but it probably won't be my last. I was sent an advanced copy by the publisher for an honest review. I loved the chemistry between our main characters Hattie and Axl. Hattie has a rough past dealing with a physically and emotionally abusive father who she still feels the need to take care of. But Axl is patient and knows just how to soothe her having family demons of his own. And now she's dealing with a potential stalker who's sending her BDSM type phone calls and pictures in the mail.

Things I loved:
- the slow burn to explosive sexual chemistry between the two
- tender, lovable bad boy Brett "cisco", who is like the big brother Hattie never had. I continuously grew more fond of him as the book went on
- the bond and loyalty among the girls
- the camaraderie between Axl and his boys
- the snark of Sly
- the intrigue and suspense of the stalker case and the separate dirty cop case that Axl and his crew are working for their job
- the empowerment Ashley creates for women by normalizing and  not demeaning the profession of stripping.

What I struggled with :
- my only real negative with the book was the overly almost childish head talk of Hattie. Everything is "cool", "awesome", or "so nice". With overuse of the word super. It became quite grating. As well as the abundance of the pet names babe and honey during steamy moments where it just didn't seem to fit.

Overall a great, fun, flirty romance for when you're looking for a light read!
