Mickey 7 and the humans find there are 2 sentient beings on their new home. They are in a Cold War and Mickey becomes a diplomat in reclaiming a nuclear warhead that is now needed for fuel. Realistic adventure.

Enjoyable. I didn’t like Antimatter Blues as much As Mickey 7 though. The beginning and a good chunk of the mid-section lacked fresh content in my opinion. However, the diplomacy focused on lightly in the beginning and more heavily at the end was engaging and kept me reading. I did very much enjoy the last 30% of the book!

I enjoyed the humor but found the characters a little frustrating. Does everyone have to be an idiot or overly macho?

Felt like it lost the point of mickeys story 😬. Having mickey go back to being an expendable at the end made the entire first book feel pointless

Def read like an unplanned sequel that was only made because the first one did really well rather than a book made to explore a character further

The main problem with this book is its pacing. It drags for too long in some parts. But it is entertaining and enjoyable.

Quick read that is engaging throughout. Progresses from the plot of the first book in a different way, and explores the world and universe more. 

Some pacing issues. Parts of the book drag on for too long, and some parts don't get as much time as they should get.
