Not as racing centered as most of his books, but still a solid mystery with lots of twists. Exciting up to the very end.

Intriguing and pleasant, but not as interesting as his others. Perry Stuart isn't nearly as interesting a hero.
On re-read: my least favorite Dick Francis. Reeks of input from the younger Francis.

Not one of the better Francis novels. At times, I rather wondered what was going on, and not in the "Oh, this is a mystery" way but in the "Oh, this is not explained well" way.
