The crazy continued from the first book. I wanted to like these, but it just got too unbelievable and weird. I lost interest quickly and won’t be reading the rest in the series.
Honestly, I don't even know why I chose to read book 2 when I did not enjoy book 1. I rated this book 2 stars for multiple reasons. Charlie and Lex trying to save their marriage would never be easy because of history. My heart also broke with Elijah passed away and I loved Adriana with Elijah and my heart broke for her. I felt like the constant back and forth and the scenes with Charlie and Julian and Lex and Montana were becoming ridiculous. They were trying to hurt each other, and I almost stopped reading then. I am not sure if I will continue to read this series.
One word. Drama. This book is all about the drama. Its a cat and mouse game tbh. There were scenes where I wanted to slap Lex so hard. I think the biggest problem they have is not talking to each other. I think 50% of the book could’ve been avoided if they talked to each other and not hurt each other. I mean I get it. A fried died and everyone handles grief differently but what Charlie and especially Lex did was not ok. He almost cheated on Charlie. Like wtf. I also don’t understand how Charlie forgave him so quickly after him treating her so poorly.
At the end though it was alright. Their relationship is just messy and could use some help and some work.

The fact Kat can write well saved this from zero stars. The plot isn’t great and the story felt unnecessary long and twisty. I didn’t get angst and suspense, I got bored. This is clearly for some people but not for me.

I only read this book because of how the previous book ended on a cliffhanger. I skimmed through it so that I could resolve the issue.
