*POTENTIAL SPOILERS*
Okay i’m going to start off by saying, this book was really really fucking hard to read. When I say it sent me into a serious spiral of anxiety, I literally felt like I took on both characters emotions and am still feeling low the morning after finishing!!
After the cliffhanger of book 1, I HAD to run to this immediately to console myself and see that they sorted out their issues.
There’s no tomorrow without him. Alexander Edwards will forever be the only man to capture my heart. And I refuse to live life any other way.
Both characters have been through a lot in their lives, and finally finding their way back to each other had my heart hurting with happiness. What Charlie dealt with alone at the age of 18 is something no one should ever have to go through, so Lex being there for here all this time later was needed.
“These scars that were all over your heart, your soul, I promise you that I will love you and that no measure of time will change that. I promise to spend the rest of my life mending these scars until they are healed, and no matter what happens… whatever life will throw at us, we will get through this together. Just you and me forever.”
HOWEVER, I would have been over the moon happy if this book ended after the night at prom. This was such an emotional and happy moment for all of them and it was just perfect. But knowing there was still 50% of the book to go, what the hell could possibly happen next????
I totally understand that what goes on to happen is to show that no relationship is perfect and grief hits everyone in different ways, but I just really struggled with Lex’s behaviour. His reasoning wasn’t logical to me (which I get, it probably wasn’t to him either) but it just really fucking hurt.
I felt that towards the end, the couples issues almost balanced out and that was needed, or else one wouldn’t have been able to forgive the other, they needed to find their way back. Despite the ending feeling quite rushed, I was so happy this was a HEA. I just can’t love Lex as much as I did in book 1 ☹️
Lex: I love you, Charlotte. Forever. Always. I’ll wait as long as you need me to.
All of the above aside and similarly to book 1, there was one recurring theme that I didn’t like. There are a couple of LGBTQ characters in this book, and with them came a lot of gay stereotypes and inappropriate comments which made me quite uncomfortable when reading and I just wanted to add that although I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I don’t support or condone the use of these stereotypes and displays of toxic masculinity. There were also some comments made toward sex workers cleanliness which weren’t appreciated and I felt this belittled the sex working trade, which could be harmful to readers and those within the industry.
Please check TW for this book also as there are a LOT of topics I didn’t expect to come up - if you want to talk about them, please give me a message!

I have no idea why I read the second book when the first book was so disappointing. Every single character is OBSESSED with sex and it’s all they talk about. No one can talk through their problems without having sex at the end of it. Also why tf did Lex think it was ok to go down on Charlotte when she was UNCONSCIOUS. Messed up in way too many ways and I don’t even know why I read till the end.
Nah, this book wasn't 'it' for me.
The first book in the series was no better, I only proceeded to the next book because I'm a committed reader, but still....it felt like a waste of time. I've never wanted to finish reading a book so fast.
God forbid I read the next books in the series.
Cringe cringe cringe cringe!!!!

This is the second part to Lex and Charlotte story. Bring you Kleenex because you are going to continue on their rollercoaster of a story. I literally had to read book one and two back to back because the story was so captivating I had to know where they ended up. Their story is a must read. This was the first time I have read anything by Kat T. Masen and Kat can bring true emotions alive on the page. Now I have to go read book 3 in the series to see who's up next

I feel like because of the first book, I was just waiting for them to fight and blow up again. I didn’t even make it to them getting married because I felt like a big blow up was going to happen again and I just couldn’t see how it wouldn’t and I didn’t want to be around for the next one. The extra POVs were also super unnecessary and just added to the length of the book. Also hate surprise pregnancies and love triangles so I’m surprised I finished the first.
better than the first
I don’t say this often but this book was so much better than the first one. I have this thing that if I finish the first book in the series, I have to finish the rest. I didn’t really like the first one but this one definitely made up for it.
