I read this book for a book club and even though it wasn't for me, I'm still glad I read it. I can see the artistic merit of the book, but the switches of focus on many characters in each chapter made it hard for me to feel invested in each character. I actually was the most invested in Primeval as a character, which had the most development. If you do read this book, please check the content warnings. A lot of the scenes are brutal and explicit. I think they also hit me a little too hard, making me enjoy the book less.

Bardzo interesująca książka. Niezwykle podobał mi się styl pisania, był bardzo poetycki, baśniowy, dokładny, tajemniczy. Książka nie skupia się na opisywaniu emocji bohaterów, a całej ich historii trwania kiedy w tle dzieją się wojny i następują różne zmiany historyczne. Ma ona bardzo ciekawe zestawienie bohaterów, Genowefa i Kuska są swoimi kompletnymi przeciwieństwami (ale czy napewno?) a jednak stają się głowami rodziny. Podoba mi się jak opisywany jest czas z perspektywy rzeczy martwych. Wydaje mi się jakby czas miał własny bieg w tej książce.

The most amazing, challenging read. The passage of time in the book is marked by the changing characters, the flow of the surroundings. There’s an almost magical aspect to this book, but it is disturbing at times.
