3.9 AVERAGE

The second book in a series following Deanna, the girl who has to stay locked in her house to prevent her from herself. reads quickly and the suspense is maintained well for me the sexual part of it seemed a bit more overpowering than in the first book - a little less necessary.

Loved it! The ending was placed so well I just wish one particular part was conducted a bit differently. This series is so amazing! It really helps you psychoanalyze human behavior
dark emotional fast-paced

This wasn't a bad book. It played out just like the first one. Same type of language, content...I just wasn't feeling it. I'm sure if I was in the mood to read a thriller, I'd of given it higher stars. Maybe. This book just wasn't doing it for me though. It was dull and I ended up giving up with only 60 pages to go (I know. I couldn't even make it sixty more pages). I leafed through the last part of the book with disinterest.

This is so disappointing because I enjoyed the first book so much! I'm not sure if I'll move onto the third one. I think I need to be in a very specific mood to enjoy a thriller like this one. I think in the future I'll re-read this one and give it another chance (and probably the rating that it deserves).

3 stars.

I like this one better. It has more emotional range and stuff.

So, thoughts. Jeremy is a simp. I really dislike him and feel he has no place in the story. His existence is so off-putting.
I like Mike, and I like Derek as well. I hope book 3 is more focused on Derek and like this one is a little more focused on Mike.

Plot-wise, this is also slightly better than the first one. I guess the villain isn't really complex or whatever, but it's not another paedophile story so there's that.

im really enjoying this series.
having a hard time putting it down actually.

My nose flare as I roll my neck and lean my head back, wanting to bellow. Wanting to scream my awesomeness to the entire building. I have taken, I have conquered, I have killed

3/5 stars

This was definitely worse than the first book, but it was still undeniably entertaining. Spending more time with Deanna, who is growing as a person but is also irreversibly dark. I think she is the perfect example of a morally grey character who does such evil things, but I still root for her anyway. I loved the first half of the novel and was as addicted to it as I was the first novel. After that I kind of lost interest in the story and felt like it wasn’t going somewhere very exciting. In the first novel, the mystery of thriller aspect was really intriguing, but I think it was less interesting in this one.

Deanna is no longer fully satisfied with s life locked away in solitary. She’s pursuing a relationship with Jeremy and she hasn’t tried to kill him any time recently. Deans starts pushing her luck and going outside on occasion, but her urges are still there, she still has an uncontrollable urge to kill. But with Deanna’s job as a cam-girl, life definitely never boring, in fact some of her clients seem to be taking things a bit too far. So if someone comes to her threatening her life, does it really matter if she kills them? Would that still be murder?

I’m going to be completely honest, my lazy ass has avoided finishing this review for over a month so I’m finding it hard to remember the fine details of the novel. I do know, however, that this one wasn’t as good as the first book. The first book was so captivating because it was so new and unique to me, and that feeling was a little lost. The extended scenes of Deanna doing her cam girl work just felt very similar to what I read in the last book and it was the same with describing Deanna’s murderous urges. The book was still entertaining and interesting, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t as thrilling as the first one.

I absolutely love this series so much

Deanna continues her "controlled burn" in book two of her self-imposed house arrest, though she begins to loosen her own leash. Do Not Disturb packs some serious heat, as you'd imagine it would, featuring a sex webcam worker as its main character, but I found the narrative of this one to be a bit more plodding than book one. It was great to see more of Jeremy featured in this book and I appreciated having that relationship fleshed out a bit more (no pun intended), but I'm not sure I'll continue on to book three.

4★
