Spent the first 100-odd pages wondering what on earth was happening and not really caring. But by about half way through I was intrigued by the mystery and got sucked in. I think the main flaw for me was that there was so little set up of the world and context (which is how it needs to be, I think for the plot to work) that I couldnt connect to what was happening.

The beginning of the book was a little overwhelming, it had lots of details and dragged a little. However, once the mystery started to unravel, and it became clearer, it was intriguing and gripping and I felt it was a beautiful story. It was a meaningful story.
