This third book in the series was just as romantic as the first two. The Wild Winchester series is easily my favorite historical romance series. The characters are fun and quirky, and the romance the aspect of found family is extremely heartwarming.

I think that Graham and Kuni's blossoming relationship was so fun to read and because of the external conflict you could really see deeper into the side of Graham that throws caution to the wind.

I enjoy this series! Kuni's singular focus on the Royal Guard gets a bit repetitive to the point where I began to skim those sections. We get it! But overall a lovely, enjoyable installment. I particularly enjoy the group scenes where all the Wynchesters get to interact with each other - the funny family dynamic is a main draw of these books for me.

4.5 rounded up! I ADORE the Wynchesters, and Kuni is such a lovely addition to the family. The plot on this one took awhile to get rolling and the book focused more on it than on her and Graham’s relationship. But it was a really fun ride and I loved every moment of it. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was so wonderful. I can’t wait to read Marjorie’s book next!! And dang would this make a good TV show.

Graham and Kuni work perfectly together, despite vastly different lives and dreams.

Graham Wynchester knows everything about everything and everybody. He is convinced that he is destined to meet and save a royal. But Kunigunde de Heusch (Kuni) is not royalty, and she doesn’t want or need his help. Kuni is in London to prove herself to her brothers and to further her plans of becoming a royal guard. These plans definitely do not include a handsome man and his intriguing family.

I want to be a Wild Wynchester! I just love this entire series so much. Graham and Kuni are very different people. Despite his serious role as spy and information gatherer, Graham has a bubbly, zesty kind of personality. He has a super positive outlook and he lives his life the way he wants to. Kuni is more serious in her approach to everything. She is desperate for acknowledgement of her achievements and abilities, and she believes the only way to get this is to become a Royal Guardsman. She has convinced herself that she has to do it all alone and has a very hard time letting anyone in.

My heart ached for Kuni and her longing to be part of something bigger than herself. The entire time Graham and Kuni tried and failed to find a way for them to be together, so in the end, it was a wonderful surprise. I loved Kuni’s creative swear words.

I enjoyed the fast pace, the crazy characters, and the obvious love the siblings have for each other. This is a marvellously fun series for anyone who likes historical romance, with steamy scenes and some mystery.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I adored this book. From the first chapter or two Ridley had me hooked with Kuni's personality and Graham's humor. The rest of the Wynchesters also make appearances and their voices are so distinct it makes me want to race through this to get to their stories... whenever Ridley writes them.

I can't say whether the disability representation here is right or wrong but I liked how she wrote about Elizabeth and Marjorie. I also enjoyed how she wrote about Kuni wanting to break into a male space/occupation and being independent, so many authors do this but sacrifice the heroine's likability but not here. She also writes about injustices, prejudice, BIPOC in 1800s England and yet it never feels preachy or like showing off knowledge.

It's a romance so they're obviously going to end up together but up until the end I was thinking "But HOW!?" and teared up when they did.

I enjoyed the plot more than the romance. Didn't really understand heroes obsession with royalty..
