I give this book a 3.5 it is cute romantic comedy and I love the fact that the woman is the main "bread winner" my feminine need for a strong FMC was met this could definitely be a standalone you do not have to have the rest of the series read before you read this one.

They had like no chemistry... Definitely not my favorite in this universe.

This was okay! The first book in this series was so amazing and for me, none of the follow ups have lived up to it in any way. I think the magic from the Ren Faire just hasn’t been captured in any other book, although I did enjoy how it was incorporated in this one. I liked the story, Louisa is a lawyer who spontaneously quits her job and starts travelling the Ren Faire with Stacy and the band that Dex is in. I thought Dex and Lulu had good chemistry and I enjoyed reading about them, this book definitely kept me reading and I liked the ending. For me what was missing was the lead up to their relationship, it just wasn’t enough. They’re extremely casual and slow burn, they take awhile to come together but then they’re just together, it feels lacklustre because they only have a couple of conversations? The intensity of their feelings don’t match the pace and there needed to be more of them together for me to buy it. I don’t understand how they fell in love when they were barely together and I didn’t feel like I really knew them as a couple. This is very women’s fiction rather than romance, the romance takes a back seat.
