Bahamian poets never cease to amazing me. Running the Dusk amazed me. Campbell's syntax and mastery of language kept me in awe of all the poems. I will admit the very beginning poem was off-putting to me but every one after that made me want to applaud. The flavour of Campbell's work was very Caribbean, leaning on Campbell's Bahamian roots and upbringing but he also touches on his Trinidadian and Guyanese roots in here. The poems cover personal experiences, history, tributes, nature, politics, and pop culture. The style of the different poems was intriguing and kept me on my toes. I would love to engage with more of Campbell's work in the future.
