This was just ok. Basically an villain in the shadow realm is trying to gain access to the real world, by possessing various people. So a team of X-men go in to fight him.

The art was excellent, and the team should be interesting, but this was just mediocre, too much illusions and mental tomfoolery. Plus Old Man Logan pisses me off, why is he on like every new X-men team, after spending time hyping killing Wolverine off...

Ok action, some interesting character interactions, particularly with Angel, but nothing really wow inducing.

I won't be reading further in this series, which is a shame, as I really want to find a good X-men series to follow, rather then diving into the best of story arcs.

65/100.

Es una historia de los X-Men buena: duelo intelectual, su dosis de acción correspondiente, desarrollo de personaje y cliffhanger en la última viñeta que abre más historias.

Interesting and entertaining, but it suffers from a mixed bag of artists. Also, the nature of the plot -- which largely takes place in the b Astral Plane -- doesn't seem to serve Soule's talents as a writer. His run on She-Hulk is one of my all-time favorite comics ... but there's rarely time for the wittiness and rich characterization that defined that series for me. It's not a BAD book by any stretch, but it's unfortunately more good than great.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the split between the real world and the astral plane. I liked the mix of characters involved and the overall arc of the story. I’ll be looking out for volume 2.

Interesting and entertaining new X-Men series. Looking forward to see how it will evolve and go on but it's a good start!

Great story.
Love Warren in this, he's adorable.
Overall the art is great too until you get to the final issue. Mike Del Mundo's art is horrible, indistinct with hideous merging colours. I hope he isn't responsible for issues going forward.

Meh was okay and you would think that with the players in this book that it would have been better, but the theme has been played out so many times that it wasn't all that great.

3rd book of the Reading Rush 2019
Read a book in one spot (my bed) ✔️
I love X-Men and this was a solid/fun story. I would like to continue it but since I checked it out at the library the probability of getting the next volume is slim and I won't be heartbroken if I don't.
All I know is Rogue is my favorite mutant and she always will be.

This was quite good. Goes down like a Claremont-level X-Men story of old; deep secrets, astral plane manipulation, the weak and the strong never who you think, and solid character moments amid the action. The art changes from issue to issue, but is somehow not quite as visually jarring at that kind of thing normally is...liked this, but very cliffhangeriffic, so waiting anxiously for the next one.

I wasn't going to read this one, but again Jacob insisted. I guess I should trust his judgement, because he clearly knows me well! Once I started these, I read them all pretty quickly. The very first issue is full of action and a slight overload of information. There are so many things happening all at once, and I absolutely loved it!

I've always been intrigued by Psylocke, so it was interesting to see how she would be portrayed in this comic. As expected, she kicks ass. Overall, it's an odd but awesome group of X-Men. I enjoy the banter between Rogue and Gambit (which is why I'm also reading their comic), and I don't often see Mystique and Fantomex. Bishop was new for me, too. I've seen him in one of the X-Men movies, but never in a comic. He is a very complex character. If I'm not mistaken, he's from the future and has the ability to jump through time. This knowledge allows him to scan events as they happen and cross reference them against future outcomes. He doesn't just see how it can effect the current reality, but every potential reality. Oh, and he can absorb energy and project it from his body. It's insane.

As for this series, it's a literal mindfuck (because they go to the Astral Plane). I never knew what was actually happening to the characters, and it gets pretty trippy. At the end of the seventh issue, something really shady happens, and now I don't know whether or not to believe it's real. It could be an illusion, or someone pretending to be something their not, and I'm not entirely sure where the story will go from here.

Fantomex! I cannot believe he willingly makes a certain decision, but I was enjoying his time spent with Mystique. They would be an unusual couple, and I think it'd make a wonderful comic! Raven needs a little love in her life.
