Ah, Lestat, you beautiful self-centered butterfly. The love! The drama! The yearning! The EDGYNESS! 
I love to hate those characters and Anne's dark gothic atmosphere.

When I first read this decades ago, this book opening up the world of Anne Rice's vampires was what made me stick with the series, even when she stopped hiring editors.

So much compelling things. Lestats relationship with Nicki, the backstory of Marius and the druids, everything with Akasha. 
I get it Anne Rice, it's not one of your books if there's not a weird relationship. First we had five year old Claudia, and now we have mother Gabrielle.
That's fun and all. I'm choosing to focus on the gay shit.
Fun, nice and long, some really interesting backstory bits- Marius' backstory I love you.
WAIT DOES THIS MEAN AKASHA IS GONNA SHOW UP IN SEASON 3 OF INTERVIEW WITH A 
HOLY
