there were a few parts that were rambling and difficult to pay attention to but otherwise loved the characters and overall plot

some things that i liked:
-the entire rockstar lestat plotline (especially with louis being his boyfriend at the concert)
-the fact that this book (unlike the first one) doesn’t shy away from explicitly stating that something or someone is gay 
-the way lestat narrates the whole story in the beginning and his character development  
-the nicki and lestat backstory 
-armand <3

some things that i disliked:
-lestats romance with HIS OWN MOTHER EW
-the very orientalist view of the world 
-having to read through over 100 pages of marius‘ backstory
-everything to do with akasha and enkil (i‘m sorry i couldn’t care less)

basically, this book changes its tone completely from chapter to chapter so it’s hard to rate the entire book, some parts are quite good and others are just so so boring
