Louis had the chance to tell his tale, of how he became a vampire and survived, but what happened to his maker.
After many years Lestat is reawakened in the 1980s, having literally climbed from the swamp of despair that Louis had left him in. He now re-emerges as a famous rock star and unapologetically proclaims to the world that he is in fact a vampire. Unfortunately Louis’ book has already done that and now Lestat is determined to set the story straight.
A sequel that Interview with the Vampire didn’t necessarily need but was nicely done. I enjoyed the back story that this book provided, it answered any questions the reader ever had and gives Lestat the humanity he was desperately missing in the first novel. My only complaint is the story was lengthy, and reiterated itself at times but it’s nothing a little speed reading won’t solve
