lestat is such a crybaby who feels so much I love him and hate him he’s just like me fr

A n enjoyable sequel to the first book! I'm glad that we got some backstory to Lestat, hearing about his past just makes him seem even most slutty and evil. But we love a manipulative and toxic mc

I like it better than Interview with the Vampire. I find it to be overly foreshadowed making the plot points a little more drawn out than necessary.

I only ever got to read Interview with the Vampire back when I was a very dramatic teenager, tragically drawn to Louis and his nihilism. It would have been interesting to know that every single one of these fangéd idiots (affectionate) is an unreliable narrator.

There are very few ways that you can conceive of an origin story for vampires that doesn't sound stupid, and this one very delicately toes the line between ridiculousness and what actual religions claim. No wonder Rice hated the movie, though. This book cannot feasibly be made into a movie. You can show people being depressed but 90% of the information is internal monologuing. On to the next book, and then I'll decide if I have it in me to read the other 57 sequels.

the only reference to rockstar Lestat that I had was from the "Queen of the damned" movie, so I thought it was going to be kinda weird or "mediocre" but I was WRONG, rockstar Lestat fucking EATSSSS, I can’t wait to see it next season of iwtv
