This teeny-tiny 96 page book is packed with so much insight.

It explain how thought and character are interlinked, how it affects our circumstances, health and body, how thought is useless without a sense of purpose, how your success and achievements in life is affected by your good or bad thoughts, how visions and ideas actually breathe life into our body and soul, and stay calm all throughout the ups and downs of life is the key to success. A man is truly what he thinks.

This book answered so many of my questions and also gave me answers to questions I didn't know I had in the first place. This book is a gem of a read!

It has some decent points. However, a good portion of it gives off a high and mighty air that the writer has of himself and his opinions. A short and relatively easy read, but not something I would read again or highly recommend to a friend.

“Self-control is strength; Right Thought is mastery; Calmness is power; Say unto your heart, Peace, be still.” - As a Man Thinketh by James Allen

One of the apt examples of demonstrating ‘less is more’. A book that is small, thin and with an average of 100 words per page has more depth than so many other average sized books. It precisely explains how we are responsible for our own ups and downs irrespective of the nature of our circumstances.

I don't share Allen's total faith in people's ability of being makers of their own destiny but it's still quick and enjoyable read with some interesting insights.

Every other page of this book is a quote you could find on a mirror or a dentist office poster. A great book to read, especially after just reading the Essential Gandhi. I would have liked some more examples, methinks. It is amazing how powerful the power of the mind and thinking really is. Sometimes it is just easier said than done.
