A stunning, heartbreaking conclusion to this magical gothic tale.

Door of Bruises takes readers on a transcendent journey to and through the doors of Thornchapel through the eyes of its inhabitants. I was bewitched by this story and am sad it has come to an end, but I'm thankful for it nonetheless.

I remain firm in my belief that this series is "too smart" for me. There's much talk of history, religion, actions and powerful consequences, implications and intentions. It was fascinating, even when I had to reread a paragraph to make sure I captured as much as I could. I love how the conversations of our MCs brought perspective to their very real surroundings. Hearing what it all could mean, then seeing how things played out before them... It was mesmerizing.

Thinking about St. Sebastian, Poe, and Auden still hurts my heart and I finished this book weeks ago. Auden will forever be one of the most complex characters I've read in romance, and St. Sebastian is one of the most tortured. Their push and pull, lust and longing, hate and fear... Ugh, I want to reread their story all over again for the first time. And BECKET! I'll never let him go.

This series won't be for everyone. It's different than anything else I've read in dark romance/erotica, but told in only the way Sierra Simone can. If you're a fan of her writing and looking for a little mystery and magic along with your spice... with a touch of taboo... this may be for you.

The end has come and the beloved characters of Thornchapel have to say goodbye. I must admit i did not want to say it. I procrastinated chapeter by chapter as each page read was hard won. As their final storylines merge again to fulfill the final requirements it gets harder and harder to read. They have each traveled a path, made a journey of self discovery and become their most truest selves. The love and unbridled passion that pours from the pages grips you in a vice and wont let go. Its harrowing and dark and danger lurks, waiting as the door stays open. In the end it blew my mind. I saw it coming and I didn't. How could I? It is all as it was meant to be and that is more than good enough for me. The author astounds me with her words and I don't think I will ever be able to let go of Poe, Auden, St. Sebastian, Beckett, Rebecca or Delphine. They are unforgettable and timeless.

The author is a beautiful write with prose almost like poetry. And she’s not afraid to hit on potentially taboo topics. The mystery solved. The relationships determined. I was sad to not see more of Becket as I really thought he’d be a larger part of the story. The ending of this series was a fascinating one!

I was along for the ride for 3 books. And then this book was just so boring and too long. It lost all the momentum.

I was putting off finishing this series because I didn’t want it to end. The authors note of “creepy but comforting” is so accurate. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this, the found family, and the folklore all while rooted in contemporary romance. And the writing is just incredible.

Oh. My. God. I could not put this down! I just had to know what happened next! There’s a huge focus on Auden this time and all of his struggles. It’s deep, it’s spicy, and it’s dramatic. The ending is jaw dropping and in the weirdest way, it felt exactly as it should be. I could keep reading this series forever!

O.M.G. Amazing twisted story

Sierra Simone tells a long and fantastical story of 6 friends and how they become a little family that would do anything for each other to make sure they are all safe and happy. The story is so beautifully written, I feel like they are my friends. I already miss them. Just when you think you’ve figured out how it will end, the story keeps twisting and ... just wow!

This finale torn me apart, the whole series is a masterpiece, you mind will be blown, so many questions and yet not enough, Going into the series I knew it was going to be a ride of a lifetime, every book I have read so far by Sierra Simone has, they are in their own category. The story will intertwine in your mind, will have you feeling like you are in the middle of the ocean with waves crashing over you from all sides, yet you keep reading. I can't really say more about this book as I don't want to give anything away, but let's be real, if you are reading the summary for this book, either you already have read the previous ones an of course you must read this one, or you want to see if the whole series is worth reading, my answer is yes, if you know Sierra Simone you know her writing, if you are discovering her, well strap yourself and star reading. Brilliant 5 stars, definitely a WTF did I just read series that is totally worth every page.
