Still missed the map, the plot was unclear for most of the book and jumped from one thing to the next thing. Hated the whining and pining of the main characters which I did not relate to or liked that much

I found the book to be really interesting, because the main characters didn't know who to trust while on the journey. In the end, the climax was really surprising, and the ending was nice. For me, I felt that it was just missing something... though I can't put my finger on it.

I enjoyed it, but not as much as book one. I missed Jenna and Enzo, and kept hoping we’d have a few chapters from their POVs. Might have been better to split into two books, the a little more from Ren in Halendi at the beginning and then ending it at the end of the Riga segment. Then book three could delve into why Jenna and Enzo were doing, possibly even add Aleksa in either book 2 or 3.

TLDR I missed Jenna. But I did like Brownlock

Did it take me a month to read the sequel to a book I rated 2 stars? Yes.
Did I end up enjoying it more than book 1? Yes.

'Untethered' follows Princess Chiara and Prince Ren as they race against time and the Mages to find the Black Library. Just as I felt about book 1, there's nothing exactly new and unique here. It's a standard YA fantasy. It's got it's cute little riddles, twists, and everyone would have been better off actually communicating instead of assuming and being emotional.

I did really like Chiara though. I did miss Jenna's POV's but Chiara is a firecracker and I really liked her.

Overall, this is a pretty forgettable series but maybe good as an introduction to YA fantasy for younger readers.
