I didn't not like this sequel ... But the story seemed unnecessary and contrived. I really enjoy the characters, however, I think I could have stopped at book one.
If you can’t get enough of Layken and Will, you’ll like this book. If the first book was just ok/good enough for you, you might find this a bit boring like I did. This is more about their relationship and personally I feel like there’s about 50 pages of content in this 200 page book.
so butterflying good!! loved the first one, loved this one!!! can't get enough of this author!
because i loved will so much in the first book i assumed i'd love this one so much more bc it's in his pov. but aside from the new characters like kiersten and sherry, there was nothing about this book that made me want to keep reading. the plot twist was addictive but the characters really didn't need any more trauma ngl. why colleen would feel the need to play with my emotions like that with a car accident right after she forgives him? bruh i can't. and idk the recovery from that situation and the ending just felt a little rushed. also will's ex really didn't need to make a reappearance and neither did his old best friend, i hated them both with a passion. like the book was fine, it just wasn't a favourite. i did absolutely love caulder and kiersten's poems at the end though, they were so sweet.
I sincerely hate giving bad or mediocre reviews, especially in books I genuinely like, because I know the work that goes into them. I would not be a good reviewer, however, if I didn't voice a need for editing.
I can ignore a grammatical error, but there were several in addition to unnecessary apostrophes and missing words. Growling in frustration every time I saw grandparents as a possessive really gave me a bad impression that I can't get over.
That said, I like the characters. The story didn't twist and turn like Slammed (I never saw a few plot twists coming in Slammed), but I like the additions of Kiersten and Sherry to the mix. I missed Eddie this time. Julia's advice made me sob almost every time.
It's a good series, just needs refinement to rebuild Hoover's credibility as an author.

I am not sure I've ever cried so hard in a book before. Incredible. I want more Lake and Will.
I literally love this series so much but they got on my one good last nerve in this book
