3.5 stars...This is book 4 in the Into Shadow Collection of Novellas on KU. I liked this one. It was intriguing. The main characters are summoned to a seminary school for girls to contact the dead, and uncover a murder in the process. I liked the writing style and will have to check out some of the authors other works. Yes I recommend this Collection.

I really enjoyed the spooky gothic vibe of this little story of spiritualists who get in a little over their heads.

What the Dead Know by Nghi Vo

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3*)

This short story is a part of the „Into Shadows“ short story collection and was my third book in this series.

A woman posing as a medium who can channel the spirit world comes face to face with the truth in this short historical fantasy.

The whole atmosphere and the setting was great. I also liked the characters and even cared a little for them but overall it wasn‘t a good book or short story… the plot was slow and non-existent at times. In some parts I didn‘t know what was going on and only the ending was some kind of silver lining. I guess formed into a full-grown book the premise could be interesting but I can‘t recommend this one.
