The plot is way too similar to “Running From the Law” - which is a later book in this law firm series, but which I read first. The scene revealing the murderer is so similar that it makes you wonder about the creativity of the author.
I wasn't too impressed but this was entertaining. It got a lot better at the end...

Good book. The Plot was great....but the language was unnecessary and inexcusable. The F word appears on almost every page, and occasionally every other word. It would have been a much better book without all of that.
Oh dear... well i enjoyed it for what it was, a silly mystery paperback.. but the ending made me laugh out loud. totally serious.
Well, I did like this book, but it made me crabby because the author has no clue about character development. The characters in this book were the same as the background characters in the last book I read, but they were so much weaker in the second book. They had no personalities. You don't make characters weaker, you make them stronger! I have one more to read by Lisa Scottoline with the same characters, lets hope it's better. Or at least explains what she's doing with them.
I enjoyed this, but I'm glad that Scottoline got better after this first one.
A good start to the series, I've read a few of them completely out of order, but decided I needed to start from the beginning to help keep track of which books I've read. Mary and Judy make a great team and this story is more about them fighting for themselves (to become partner and against a stalker). Looking forward to future books when they are fighting the good fight for others.
