3.43 AVERAGE

This is a decent book, I liked the plot, but I couldn't deal with the sexism in the writing. I'm sure the author got better about this as time went on (since this was written in 93), but I won't be reading another.

good read

This book has everything: identical twins, upstart lawyers, Borders bookstores, the AIDS epidemic, the assumption that everyone knows what Adam Ant looks like. If you were trying to write a pastiche of an early 90s novel. I don't think you could do better than this actual early 90s novel.

I really enjoy Scottoline's style of writing in her stand alone books so I thought I'd try one of her series. It didn't disappoint! Now to hurry up and buy the others.

Quite suspenseful and engaging. I didn't quite buy the villain, though.

3.5 Stars. It started out a little slow for me and got a little slow in the middle so that's why I couldn't quite give it 4 stars. I did enjoy it, though. Mary frustrated me some, but I liked her. I think after hearing Lisa Scottoline speak in person, I was better able to appreciate Mary. I thought the conclusion of the mystery was pretty good. I hadn't suspected it at all, but it made sense. I'm seriously considering spending money and buying the next book in the series because there's a really long wait for it at the library.

This was really good.
