I thought this book was ok. It's a swift read that is entertaining but it lacks substance in places. The end is a hard sell. I'm just not buying the villain and their out-of-nowhere-craziness. I think that's where the lack of depth hurts this book - it seems so random. This book was recommended to me as a great beach read and it was absolutely that. I don't think she's someone I would go actively read on my own in my normal rotation b/c I'm not really into lawyer books for one, and I also don't need any more Philadelphia centric things in my life - anyone who knows me well will definitely understand that one. Just a personal preference. But I would definitely pick her up again next time I'm vacationing in paradise, that's for sure. I was entertained and that's all I really want out of a good beach read.

Easy read, but the reveal was kind of stupid. Would have been way more interesting if the stalker ended up being Judy (her best friend)

Good story, yet unfathomable ending

I think Lisa tells a good story. The resolution was a little hard to fathom, but good story telling. I am still trying to figure out where things go from here for lawyers. Book says Rosato and Associates Book 1. Who is Rosato? There is no mention in the book.

Enjoyed the heck out of this. Fast-paced thriller that knows when to cut the tension with levity. The main character is well-crafted and three-dimensional. The supporting cast are all interesting.

Very suspenseful.

Awful.

Enjoyed the story.

Nice start to the saga of Mary and Judy. It is obvious, though, the improvements that were made in the writing from this early example.

After reading [b:Gone Girl|8442457|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1339602131s/8442457.jpg|13306276] and enjoying it so much, I looked up a bunch of random mystery/thriller type books to try and recapture some of the excitement of a suspenseful plot line. This was one of them. Hoo boy was this a poor choice.

I've only read one other Lisa Scottoline book previously and it was OK - a book I enjoyed, but not one I felt was outstanding. This book, Everywhere That Mary Went is unreadable. I only got through about 2 chapters before I had to give up and move on.

This was my Facebook post about this book:

You know that moment? That specific moment when you clearly see in your mind's eye the author of the book you're reading sitting at her very expensive iSomethingSomething computer, with a Word Doc open in one window and thesaurus.com in another as she looks up every verb and adjective of her masterpiece and changes it to something "smarter." And that's when you know you cannot possibly take her piece of crap book seriously and it's only a matter of time before you throw it to the flames.

"Ha-ha-ha!" The bogus sound caroms harshly off the walls of the cavernous courtroom, ricocheting like subatomic particle long after everyone has fallen silent."

Or...

"'Miz DiNunzio? Are you with us?' the judge asks. I nod, in a caffeinated way."

Basically, the writing did this book in for me. I couldn't get past focusing on the terrible flaws and enjoy the plot.
