I'm gradually adding books I've read in 2021 to give a true reflection of the books I've read since keeping records.  This was the first book I read in 2021, and is what kick started my reading journey having put reading on the back burner whilst bringing up the children, previously being an avid reader. The true story of Father Christmas. A lovely children's story, with the elves believing that impossible is a swear word and anything is possible with a bit of magic. A good old fashioned children's read. Lovely

I may have had too high expectations of this book, as it ended up being just meh. It was quite slow to read at times, despite it being a children's book. The story as such is lovely of course, but I couldn't really take to it. There were bursts of action and things happening and then there were parts that jsut felt  slow.

Cute, funny origin story for Santa Claus. There is a depiction of parental death so avoid if that would be traumatizing for your child. Fun to read with my 10 year old.
