This was pretty good and I read it quickly. I guessed the final twist very early on. The structure was clever.

Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

A propulsively fun read, IMO, and then I was tickled to listen to the accompanying Pop Culture Women podcast interview with Korelitz.

So unbelievably predictable. But it was fun.

2.5 stars. This could have been a thrilling who done it, but the author made what I thought was an obvious reveal halfway through the book. I immediately knew the twist and the rest of the story lost its thrill. It was such a good story, I wish the author had changed that one detail!

A hoot and a half. I loved all the digs and commentary on publishing and writing (and teaching writing) as a profession. It suffered a bit from all the build-up of the titular plot, its originality, its guaranteed sure-thing-ness, when in fact the plot itself, and the famous 'twist', seemed less novel and surprising (and more predictable, to be sure) than they were described to be in the book. But the meta-intertwining of the in-book book's plot, and the plot of this book, were very cleverly done, and I'll be happy to read The Sequel.
