a mystery in the time of the first COVID-19 lockdown in Ireland sounds interesting, but didn’t end up being so.
it is deeper than the average thriller, at least. the author believes in the reformation of criminals, but what happens in this book didn’t help that point

hadn’t read a thriller in awhile and this one was pretty good. This is the first book I’ve read where the COVID lockdowns were a major factor in the story which gave it a different element which I appreciated. I never want to say too much about a thriller and give away anything so I’ll just give it a generic “yeah, pretty good. Kept me reading”

I am not usually a thriller fan. There are very few that I would even consider rating above 3 stars. This one was so interesting I could not put it down. I can generally guess twists pretty early on in a thriller, which is why I generally dislike them, but this one completely fooled me. My mind was blown, and I will definitely check out more of this author's work, because this was a very intricately plotted and well-written book. I was very pleasantly surprised, it was much better than I expected it to be.

The first CRH book I read was The Nothing Man, and now this one.  I officially want to read everything by her.  While I rated both books 4 stars and not 5, they were the two most unique thrillers I've ever read, and that says a lot.
I thought I'd figured this one out twice.  I was wrong, twice.

It is really weird reading about Dublin in the early days of the pandemic, while still living through it’s later stages 2 years later. She sets the scene really well and her description of Dublin during lockdown definitely brings back memories

The story itself is also very well done, with plenty there to keep it fresh and a little different
