"Care tasks are morally neutral"
I think I've been waiting 30 years to hear that.
Thanks libro.fm for the advance listening copy!

I really liked the overall theme of this book— be kind to yourself and others, your home is there to serve you not the other way around. Some good tips for motivation to complete household tasks and the author was fairly concise, which I appreciated. A few unnecessary swears and I feel like the author could have outsourced some sections that clearly weren’t her strengths (dusting, cleaning out her car).

This book gives you a new perspective on the difficulties of adulting and encourages you to release the guilt when you feel like you're failing at it. I can see my future self coming back to it over and over again.

this book made me feel so seen and understood i almost teared up at one point.

“no one ever shamed themselves into better mental health” HELLO???

don’t wanna be corny and say this was life changing but it kinda was. changing the perspective from chores into care tasks was huge. and overall it’s so nice to know i’m not alone in my executive function struggles and that i’m no lesser person for that. care tasks are morally neutral. i need to drill that into my head now.

seriously what an amazing book. i feel i will come back to it again and again.
