September nonfic book club pick.

Read this one slowly, the narrator’s voice through the book is so comforting, so kind, feels like a hug. Love love love the breakdown of care tasks and also different levels of functionality for spaces. There is a lot of interesting aspects of disabilities brought up which are really well thought out. 10/10 book which is essentially about how to keep your body & home in good functional shape.

I had to wait MONTHS to get this one from the library but it was totally worth it. KC Davis is a genius. I have like 6 super easy realistic takeaways and I can't wait to start half-assing some stuff around my house. The tips are not earth shattering, but to hear them repeated and laid out all together is revolutionary.

Listening to the audio book felt like listening to a friend/therapist give life advice and was delightful. It's a quick read and I HIGHLY reccomend it.

No shame, grounding self-help book to be able to deal with care tasks (not chores).
Focuses on keeping things functional instead of instagram worthy and takes out the shame from morally neutral tasks. Very reassuring and calming. Love the terminology. Much positive.
