Spoiler:
Similar to another review the love story didn’t work for me. I don’t know if it wasn’t fleshed out or what but they would have been fine as friends.

Also me being picky I was wondering what the human did for food and such while in the house and the city. I may have it noticed if food hadn’t been brought up so much earlier.

I’m sure this will be an unpopular opinion but I thought this was just okay. I liked reading a Pinnochio retelling because I don’t think it’s been done yet.
the writing was great as always and I could picture everything very easily. I enjoyed the first half because the characters were interesting and compelling enough. But the second half, I found so boring. The characters dialogue was supposed to be cute and heartwarming but I found it merely cheesy. The romance also did not work for me at all and would’ve been better cut out.

this was nothing like i thought it would be and everything i needed it to be. im 2 for 3 at crying over tj klune books. i really never thought he'd be able to top under the whispering door for me but let me tell you whispering door and lives of puppets are fighting for the top spot in my tj klune book ranking
