So many emotions right now!! This book is an absolute masterpiece.
Similar to the first part in the series, I spent about 60% of the book being confused but damn did I love it. And then things start to unravel and my jaw dropped so many times.
All of the characters are incredibly well crafted and have so much depth and complexity.
I’m continuously blown away by the author’s capability to give each character such a unique voice.
All in all, it’s a wild ride filled with adventure, mystery, action, fighting, death and gore but als love that defies all rules and realms.
I wish I could write a more eloquent review right now but my mind is still reeling.

This book has got to have one of the most interesting approaches to storytelling I've seen in a while - though also the most confusing. I won't go into detail as I think it is best to go in blind but I will say that the devil is in the details!

In book one I didn't like Harrow at all and given what happened to Gideon at the end, this book wasn't a high priority. However I needed something to take on a trip and the ebook was free at the library so here we are. Despite going in not liking Harrow this book made me care for her a lot more and the new characters introduced are a fun mix of entertaining and concerning. I kind of wish I'd listened to the audiobook as I heard a clip of one of the scenes and it was the funniest thing!

I honestly don't know what else to say about this book without ruining the surprises but don't expect to understand half of what's going on - I have really enjoyed the ride so far but the reason this isn't five stars is that I am very very confused about practically everything.

While "Gideon" was a fun and funny genre experiment, a sci-fi haunted house murder mystery, "Harrow" takes that basic setting and tweaks pretty much everything about it. It operates, at least at first, as a fun-house mirror version of "Gideon", where everything seems similar but just different enough to make you wonder what's going on. It plays with memory a lot, both for the characters and for you as a reader. And in those experiments, it shows just how strong of a writer Muir really is. I'm looking forward to Book 3.
