amazing! this book was truly a journey. the only reason i didn’t give it a 5 is because it was a very confusing read, but it’s almost meant to be set up that way in order to make the reveals at the end more meaningful.  i have never read a more unique story and set of characters, they all truly were pretty unpredictable, and extremely flawed but some still lovable. so many plot twists and insane magic adventures. i loved the first book and this one is very different from it but still almost set up the same way in which you see all the characters (lots of death btw) they go on an adventure u don’t really understand and then plot twist after plot twist slowly reveals everything. i wish this book would’ve given me more closure at the end but the ending was still so amazing that i can’t really complain, i cant wait for the next book in the series!

I have no idea WTF I just read. I didn't understand half of it. Nevertheless, 5 stars.

TALENTED, BRILLIANT, INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, SHOWSTOPPING, SPECTACULAR, NEVER THE SAME, TOTALLY UNIQUE, COMPLETELY NOT EVER BEEN DONE BEFORE.
It's been a while since a book hadn't touch me like this. Harrow the Ninth is gripping and quite confusing (like everything written by Muir) but is, at last, a cry of grief for the lost and loved ones. This book has became my comfort blanket in the saddest and most twisted way possible. I love it.

I was delightfully confused for about 350 pages straight. I thought about this book way too much and finished it way too soon.
Highlights are the Shakespearian insults, the maddening confusion (and need to know if my theory was right), the casual queer representation, and the way the author left the reader to fill the gaps. I’ll be thinking about this one for a looong time
Lowlights are the cliff-hanger but that’s what preordering the sequel is for
