This really does just further my known hate for duets. I still have not read a duet I liked. Unnecessary drama

Fantastic finish to the duet!
This took SO many twists and turns on its way to the finish, and at times, I got aggravated with Blakely’s reluctance to make decisions, though I can’t say I wouldn’t be the same in her shoes. But the way everything came together was amazing. There was even MORE drama somehow. But in the end, there was connection and love at the heart of the story, there was friendship and passion, and I loved knowing that these two finally found peace together.

They got there in the end, but dang was it a long ride. The back and forth from Blakely got a bit exhausting. The fact that Riggs said he refused to change and she had to figure out how to accept that was also tiring. It was the same argument the whole book. They were both terrible at communication. Every time they would argue, one of them would shout and then leave. That's not solving anything. They discussed a new "contract" but that never got finalized. I would have liked that story line to close up. There were a few unresolved story questions, but, like I said, they got there in the end. I was happy with the ending. It escalated quickly at the end, but HEA.

This book wasn’t just bad, it was awful
Mmc thought he’d say wife enough times and she’d just forgive him for betraying her. Let’s not forget that he constantly gaslights her into thinking it’s her fault that they’re still broken up when he was the reason they fell apart in the first place
This book did not need to be a duet and suffered from “I need to write hot scenes to sell on Tiktok” syndrome and what’s even worse is that the smut was stale and I’ve seen it repeatedly done in countless other books. Also he was the worst dom I have read in my entire life kinda wish I lost the ability to read while reading this duet

DNF at 70 percent. I tried to finish but Blakey was so annoying and they kept having the same conversations. I probably would have liked it more if everything wrapped up nicely in the first book.
I liked book 2 just a tad more than the first book (The Auction). The Vow was more suspenseful and there were more Club Indulgence scenes (but still not enough, imo)! But love me an j/p Alpha H with “touch her and die” vibes. The h annoyed me at times because she was so hot and cold and would give the H mixed signals. But you know how much I love second chance romances so I’m glad they got their HEA. The epilogue was cute but or course I wanted more!
I'm so happy to be done with these two and their toxic relationship!
I liked these two for the most part but this book really was just too much back and forth will they won't they. It got olllld real fast. Like yea Riggs fucked up pretty badly but either forgive and communicate in a healthy way and figure out how to move forward or get a divorce. Both of them annoyed me at different times thru this.
