Interesting & enjoyable but I found the characterization of both Maria and Anna too one sided & the victim-blaming if Anna rather disturbing.

Honestly, I did not go through with this book. I made it to page 153 and then I just had to put it aside. When it doesn't make you forget that you have to do your laundry, clean or make you ignore the outside world, it's just not a good book. This is the most boring books I ever read... Or tried to read.

I can't really say anything about this book apart from the fact that I loved it. I loved it from the start till the end. I have never felt such love for any non series book ever.
This book taught me the little sorrows and perfect happiness of life and how people still keep moving forward.

A powerfully emotive book that will have you hooked. I loved the layers to this story and how it covered multiple generations. The characters are complex but their actions make so much sense. I’d highly recommend.

I liked this book; I didn't love it. I can't put my finger on it. The writing was good, the story was good, the characters were good. Perhaps this book was, just simply, good? The story of a leper colony off the coast of Greece and the family whose members are intertwined with the island...was just simply that.
