Ugh, this better not be the final book in the series. I just really love Mure and all its inhabitants. 'An Island Wedding' was lovely and funny and romantic as usual, but sadly it was heartbreaking as well

This is a well-written book for its particular light-hearted genre and not as fluffy as some, given some of the subject-matter. The characters and story-line are engaging and I devoured it fairly quickly, not being in the mood for anything more demanding. Some things annoy me about this series - Scotland does not have vicars; clergy are known as ministers. And the actual islands off Scotland’s north-east coast have never been Gaelic speaking or had a preoccupation with tartan. (I still can’t quite visualise where the island is meant to be located - if it weren’t for where Jenny Colgan tells us, I would think it was a fictionalised Tiree or another of the Inner Hebrides). Overall an enjoyable read.
