The conceit of this anthology is "stories that appeared in magazines with 'science fiction' in their title, which aren't actually science fiction." But the majority (11 of 19) actually appeared in Fantasy & Science Fiction, which naturally includes fantasy. Several of the rest really are science fiction, by any standard. And one story was never previously published at all!

I think Groff needs to come clean and admit that these are just some stories he had lying around and decided to slap into an anthology—but now that is a secret he took to his grave.
