When everyone tells me that I'm going to love a book, I'm always hesitant. It never quite lives up to the hype. The writing may be good but a character falls flat or the plot is lacking. It just misses the mark slightly.

But with this one, and Ove, no one was wrong. The writing is beautiful. The story, with the traveling through done with perfection, was everything I hoped it would be. I laughed, I cried.

My heart was broken, repaired, filled with light and joy, then broken again.

And then there were the characters. This absolute curmudgeon of a man is the truest example of grief and how we can learn to move through it. His cast of characters that fill in his life bring him back from the edge and give him a reason to live - and to love - again. 

I don't feel equipped to even fully explain my love for this story. I just know it's one that I won't soon forget about. Read it once and think of it fondly forever.

If it wasn't for the very wordy and frequent body shaming/fat phobia I would have rated this booknhigher. I enjoyed the point of this book, but the multiple body descriptions of one character was just too much.

the story was good and the plot was engaging! i LOLd so much and cried at the end, excited to watch the movie! the universe has a way to make things work the way they’re meant to.
